I just can’t muster much of anything this month. I am DEFINITELY out of it, running on fumes.

I’d love to recap this month in a cute, lovely way for ya’ll but I don’t have it in me. What should be my favorite month is not because of the ridiculous pace that we have to keep. Three birthdays, a work trip, recital weekend, Mother’s Day and my work swallowing me whole has been causing me less sleep, headaches, and general numbness.

But I’m working on it. AND I am taking a personal day tomorrow and FULLY intend to turn off my phone. Watch me.

I LOVE writing interesting pieces for people who want to read this, but this is straight-up for me to help me remember what we did in May and for my kids to look back at this and see that I was really, really trying. Even if they just remember random yelling.

May 2019:

1. Shawn to DC- It’s a yearly thing. Ugh.
2. My 36th birthday; NO fanfare-I’m over it.
3.”How to Cope if You Aren’t Rachel Freakin’ Hollis” Post Born-No, I’m not.
4. Sophie’s Birthday- Harry Potter Theme and Golden Snitch Donuts.

5. Party at Jenny’s Tavern and Pizzeria.-Yes, it’s normal to have kids at the tavern/pizzeria. Rain cancels planned “TriWizard Tournament” in the backyard, and moved it in doors for 2 solid hours of competition games/dance party.

6. DogWood Parade-Our first parade of the season. 1 done, 32 to go.

7. Dance Recital-ALWAYS on our birthday weekend. It happened.

8. Rory’s Birthday-Hulk Smash/Avengers Theme. Cookies and juice for school birthday treats for classmates.

9. Date Night-Finally celebrating my birthday.

10. Young Female Leaders 2K-Moved inside in the rain. The run was super fun and full of female power!

11. Bonkers For Sloane and Rory’s Birthday with 10 kids-Yikes. It was not pretty. A logistics nightmare and I spent a lot of time counting kids.

12. Family Birthday Party for the all 3 kids, with three homemade cakes.-Super fun, but exhausting. I am learning to make cakes for my kids from my talented Mother in Law. The dog enjoyed licking up dropped icing.

13. Mother’s Day-This is as good as we could get. And it’s perfect. Paint t-shirt, Hulk, glasses, and ALL.

14. Sloane’s Birthday; -Lost Kitty Theme. Doughnuts and water for school treats and yes, their hair always looks like this when they wake up.

14. Senior Awards Banquet -Just over $977,000 scholarship money for the class of 2019. Not even kidding. They rocked it.

15. Class field trip to Gardner Camp-Super tiring, warm weather, lots of snakes.

16. Shawn shows kids “Gremlins”- Rory may never sleep again. Seriously.

17. Forgot my kid at early daycare pick up- I am the WORST.

18. Graduation- I thought I might fall asleep during the ceremony. All went well.

19. 11 Graduation Party Invites-I made it to only FOUR.

20. Kite Flying -5 actual minutes of flying, 10 minutes of yelling, 15 minutes of untangling and chasing the kite.

21. T Ball Practice for Rory -I saw him almost catch his coach in the shin with his bat. So, we’ll see.

22. First Softball game-Sloane hit the ball twice and then made the slowest runs EVER to first base, and then jumped with both feet on the bag amid WILD screaming from the dugout (and me).

And May is not even over yet.

How was your May? Been busy? Looking forward to the end of school?

Love,

Stef
