Do your kids love hot chocolate? Mine do! Every time we are outside on a cold day, when we come in they immediately request hot chocolate. But because I am the worst domestic goddess ever, we are often out of the easy packets.

ALSO- I HATE looking for a recipe online, finding one that I might like, and then having to scroll down for a full minute before I get past the lengthy back story and 25 pictures before I ever read an ingredient list. Just “GET ON WITH IT,” I want to yell. I PROMISE, I will never do that here. Who has the time?

Easy, homemade Hot Chocolate: 3-4 servings 3/4 cup heavy whipping cream (this is SUCH a staple at my house)3 cups milk1/2 tsp of vanilla8 oz of sweetened condensed milk (half the can) 1 cup milk chocolate or semi sweet milk chocolate chips

I didn’t really read the instructions. Whenever a recipe asks me to mix dry ingredients and mix wet ingredients and then slowly incorporate the two, I do it in one bowl. Who has time for that? And for the record, I have tried both ways and it tastes THE EXACT same.

I found this recipe on Facebook recently and decided to try it because the kids were whining SO loudly for hot chocolate. You can find the original recipe here if you don’t trust me, aren’t up for the adventure, and want to look at 15 pictures of hot chocolate in a crockpot. I did mine in a saucepan, not a crockpot. I also simmered it for 5 minutes instead of two hours. All recipes are loose suggestions. 🙂

IT WILL TASTE THE SAME. And here you only have to look at ONE picture of my middle child enjoying her easy peasy extra chocolatey hot chocolate through a swirly straw.

It is delicious! And since I am so extra sometimes, I topped my kids hot chocolate with some whipped topping. Winning!
