Dear readers, have you noticed that every one of the recipes I have posted are all listed as EASY? Easy is the name of the game ’round here. I don’t do difficult. You are NEVER going to find a recipe for beef bourguignon unless I go through a Julia Child phase when I get all these kids raised.

Ha! Just kidding. When these kids are raised I will be sleeping and catching up on the last ten years of popular television.

Again, I am keeping with the trend of getting straight to the point the recipe will come BEFORE the worthless crap about why we made this recipe.

Worthless Crap about WHY We Made This Recipe: (In case you were wondering. I bet you weren’t, which is why it’s at the END. )

We LOVE cookies. And it is our gift of choice for people who have had a baby, for people who are grieving, for people who just moved in, for a family get together, or because it is Sunday. Cookies make everything better.

I don’t buy expensive pre-made cookie dough. I would like to and it would make my life easier, but it does not fit in my grocery budget. So this recipe is great because a box cake mix is about $1 at most grocery stores. Plus, there are only THREE ingredients. We usually have the assortment of chips, oil, and eggs on hand so this recipe can be mixed up in the oven in about 5 minutes.

We like the devil’s food cake mix and this variation of the three different types of chips. But the possibilities are ENDLESS. You could use any type of cake mix and add in your mix-ins and build your favorite cake mix cookie.
My kids really like these and I think it is a good alternative from the ole standby, chocolate chip.

I don’t have pictures because we gave half away to our neighbors and quickly gobbled up the rest. (This was our second attempt at giving some to the neighbors, to be honest. The last time they weren’t home when we tried to deliver them……. so we ate them. Such is life.
Try some cake mix cookies. Super yummy and a simple recipe to do with your kids!

We hope you enjoy!

Love,

Stef

P.S. Shout out to my good friend, Alysa, who made the cutest kid recipe book for one of my kid’s birthday a couple of years ago. We found a recipe similar to this one in her “kid recipe binder” and have adapted it to the above and use it all the time!
